About Us

Helsebygg Midt-Norge (The Hospital Development Project for Central Norway) is an independent project with its own board. Its funding and mandate originates from the Norwegian Parliament, yet it is attached to the Central Norway Regional Health Authority as a project organization.

The project has two customers, St. Olavs Hospital and the Medical Faculty at NTNU, and derives its funding from both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Research. The hospital accounts for about 75% of the total area, but there will be more medical students than hospitalized patients at any given time, and hospital and university areas are totally integrated throughout the campus.
