The 'Equipment' Project
The equipment project is responsible for facilities planning and procurement within agreed budgets.
Today, hospitals are high-tech organizations, where medical and technological development is continually extending the range and extent of the conditions that can be diagnosed and treated.
At the same time, there are ever-increasing demands for cost-effective operation and capital investment. Procurement of medical equipment is therefore a very important task.
For the new university hospital, this has been organized as a separate equipment project, parallel to the centre projects.
The intention of this separation of building and equipment tasks is to ensure that the end-client and hospital give the necessary attention to equipment purchasing, and that and there is a level of standardization across the boundaries of the individual centre projects.
In this context, "equipment" includes medical equipment and furnishings, IT equipment and movable fittings.
