Congress for Medical Education Visits Hospital

AMEE 2007 will bring 1850 medical educators to Trondheim and St. Olav's Hospital August 25-29 2007, with the Medical Faculty at the university (NTNU) as a co-arrangor. The hospital building project is proud to sponsor the event.

AMEE

The Association for Medical Education in Europe is an association for medical and healthcare professions teachers, institutions, deans, administrators, researchers and students. Originally a European organisation, AMEE is now truly international, with members in 90 countries. AMEE’s activities span the continuum from undergraduate/basic education through post-graduate/specialist training to continuing professional development. The AMEE Journal, Medical Teacher, published 10 times a year, is one of the leading healthcare professions education journals and contains peer-reviewed articles on a wide range of topics. It is available in hard copy and online, and is provided free to AMEE Individual and student members.

AMEE Conference

Since 1973 AMEE has held an annual conference in a European city. AMEE 2007 will be held at the Trondheim Spektrum Conference Centre and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). A 40 page provisional programme is available in hard copy from the AMEE office or a copy can be downloaded from the AMEE website (www.amee.org)

AMEE 2007 Participants

More than 1800 participants are expected, from over 80 countries. Participants typically include:

  • Medical teachers, and teachers from other health-care professions including veterinary medicine, dentistry, nursing and physiotherapy;
  • Deans and administrators of medical, veterinary medicine, dental and nursing schools;
  • Researchers from a range of disciplines;
  • Medical students

Venue

The Trondheim Spektrum Conference Centre is situated about 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre and from most conference hotels. All the morning sessions will take place at Trondheim Spektrum including the plenaries, symposia, posters and lunches. In the afternoon, some of the short communications and workshops will take place at Trondheim Spektrum and others at NTNU.
