The project board of the New Molde Hospital has chosen a cooperative group consisting of the architectural offices of Narud Stokke Wiig, Arstad Arkitekter and the Danish firm Arkitema.
This team has broad experience from several hospital projects, not least of which is the new university hospital in Trondheim. Here the Norwegian contingency of the architectural team had responsibility for the Neurological Center in Building Phase I. Under the name Team St. Olav it is presently designing three large clinical centers in Phase II of the project at Øya.
Seven architectural groups competed for the job in Molde and the choice was based on the following criteria: quality of prior projects; competence of the personnel offered; understanding of the process and the plan to be carried out; price and competence.
“It has been important for the project board to obtain the best possible architectural competence for the New Molde Hospital. We have now done so, and a realistic approach to the project is thereby further strengthened”, says Bjørn Engum, Managing Director of the Regional Health Authority for Nordmøre and Romsdal and chairman of the project board of the New Molde Hospital.
The architects will work closely together with the project organization, which will complete its main program for the new hospital this autumn.
