Bleken has been commissioned to decorate the end wall of the restaurant on the ground floor. The decoration will measure approximately 4 x 2, 5 metres and will be visible from the entrance, hall and Olav Kyrres Plass.
A number of works by Bleken has been bought by St. Olavs Hospital in the past, amongst them a large painting in the 1902-building (Old Main). The theme for the decoration in the Knowledge Centre is man and science, and the artist expresses excitement at the prospect of decorating the centre.
The art committee for the centre are proud to get a decoration by one of Norway’s foremost contemporary artists – an artist who is also represented at the most important museums and art collections in the country.
Bleken will do the painting in Trondheim. – I don’t seem to be able to paint elsewhere, Bleken says.
The Knowledge Centre will be completed in the autumn of 2013.
