Phase II

Building phase 2 started late 2006, when the buildings vacated by the completion of Phase I were available for demolition. Most of the new hospital was completed by 2009/2010. Then the old high-rise was demolished and the final centre erected (Knowledge Centre).

The overall structure is pattern of city blocks facing a central square. Total building area in phase II is over 100.000 sq.m. (including 10.000 sq.m. rehab), but more than 85% of the existing hospital is demolished. Only the newest (oncology building, 1985) and oldest (old main, 1902) buildings remain.
